Segment Categories

Overview

Segment Categories are an organization tool within Loyalty, that allow you to group together Segments.

Access

To access the Segments screen, select Members from the Main Navigation Menu, then select Settings > Segment Categories from the Sub-Category menu.

The Segment Categories screen provides the following features:

Searching and Sorting

Search

The search feature allows you to search for a specified text string anywhere within the Segment Category Display Name or Internal Name.

  1. Optionally, in the search field near the top of Segment Categories screen, enter the desired text string.

  2. Press Enter, or click the search button (magnifying glass icon).

  3. The Segment Categories screen is refreshed to show only the Segments Categories who meet your search criteria.

  4. To remove all search criteria, click the remove button ("X" icon).

Sort

The "Sort" drop-down menu allows you to sort the Segment Categories on a variety of different fields. To sort the list of Segment Categories, select the desired sort option from this menu.

  • Name

  • Created Date

  • Updated Date

Create a New Segment Category

To create a new Segment Category:

  1. In the "Enter Display Name" field, enter the Display Name value for the new Segment Category.

  2. Click create. The "Edit Segment Category" pop-up window is displayed.

  3. The "Display Name" field is populated with the value you entered above in step 1; optionally edit this value.

  4. The "Internal Name" is automatically populated based on the "Display Name" value. This field is disabled by default. To edit the Internal Name, check the "Edit Internal Name" check box. A confirmation dialog box is displayed; click ok. Edit the Internal Name value.

  5. To assign an image to this Segment Category, click choose file. Browse to and select the desired image file.

  6. In the "Description" field, enter a description of the Segment Category.

  7. Check "Internal" if the Segment Category should be internal-facing only.

  8. Click save.

View or Edit a Segment Category

To view or edit the details of a Segment Category:

  1. Search, sort, or filter the Segment Categories screen as described above.

  2. Click on the desired Segment Category. The "Edit Segment Category" pop-up window is displayed.

  3. Make any necessary edits to the Segment Category properties.

  4. Click save. Or, to discard your changes without saving, click close.

Delete a Segment Category

To delete a Segment Category:

  1. Search, sort, or filter the Segment Categories screen as described above.

  2. Click on the desired Segment Category. The "Edit Segment Category" pop-up window is displayed.

  3. Click delete. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.

  4. Click ok.
